the design concept draws from Louisiana’s rich aquatic ecosystems—such as the rivers, bayous, swamps, and the Gulf—to transform the emergency department into a calming, welcoming environment. Inspired by the region’s natural beauty, the space incorporates biophilic elements and intuitive wayfinding to create a harmonious and reassuring experience, connecting patients and visitors to a sense of place and tranquility.
